Lanikai Beach & The Amazing Sunset at China Walls! O’ahu, Hawaii -

is a popular destination for tourists and locals alike. It is in Kailua on windward (east) side of O’ahu. What makes it special is its lack of commercial development–there are no services at all. If you drive south from Kailua on HI-72, you’ll pass by Waimanalo and Makapu’u with views of Rabbit and Kaohikaipu Islands and ocean attractions like Sandy and Halona Blowhole. Continuing south toward Kai and Honolulu you will find Hanauma Bay and then there is a turn off to a peninsula in a subdivision area with a at the end called Koko Kai Mini Park, also known as . We enjoyed watching the here over Diamond Head, Waikiki, and Honolulu. There were many college students enjoying themselves (maybe a little too much), and there were even boaters and cliff jumpers. It can be slippery and I would not recommend it for swimming–there is no sand, only natural rock walls. There is an area right at the front, though, where you can see the without going further down.
