Kilauea Volcano Hawai’i Eruption Update for 1 August 2022. Lava extrusions continues to cause the lava lake surface (Halema’uma’u Crater Floor) to rise. Lava is starting to fill in low lying areas on the lowest part of the down dropped block. USGS conducts Airborne Electromagnetic & Magnetic surveys of Kilauea to image its underground plumbing system and magma chamber.
