How to make the classic Hawaiian comfort food dish Loco Moco. Originally created at the Lincoln Grill restaurant in Hawaii, Loco moco literally translates as ‘Crazy Snot’ or ‘Crazy Mucus’. The combination of hamburger, gravy and fried egg over some sticky rice means that this dish has gone on to become a firm favourite amongst Hawaiians.
Ingredients

For hamburger: Ground beef 1lb, 1/2 cup finely chopped onion, 1/2 cup dried breadcrumbs, Worscestershire Sauce,1/2 teaspoon salt, pepper, 1 egg, oil for frying
For gravy: 2 tablespoons butter, 2 tablespoons plain flour, Worscestershire Sauce, 500ml beef stock, salt & pepper
To serve: freshly cooked sticky rice, fried eggs, chopped chives
