This traditional Hawaiian song was published by Charles E. King in 1916 and relates the adventures of a group of friends on holiday on Oahu. The original song has seven verses that follow the group to Kaalawai (land below Diamond Head), Kapiolani Park (known for its horse race track), Waikiki, Makee Ailana (an island in Kapiolani Park), Seaside Hotel, Ainahau (estate of Princess Likelike), and then ends. This arrangement uses the most popular four verses that hula dancers follow today.
