Mele Fong aka Ukulele Mele tells the story behind the hapa haole song Brown Gal. Composed in 1935, the song was commonly used to teach hula to tourists aboard Matson luxury liners and at Waikiki hotels. The song was featured in the 1957 film South Seas Adventures.
