Mele Fong aka Ukulele Mele tells the story behind the Christmas song Silent Night, written in 1818. This song was born in a village in the Austrian Alps on Christmas Eve when Joseph Mohr, a Catholic priest, wrote down some words in German for the season. The church pipe organ was broken, so the organist Franz Gruber, wrote a tune to those words and played the song that evening at midnight service.
