Story Behind the Song | We Wish You a Merry Christmas | by Ukulele Mele - lanikai-beach.net

Mele Fong aka Ukulele Mele tells the story behind the Christmas song We Wish You a Merry Christmas written in 1857. Many of the oldest Christmas carols including this song were known as wait’s carols, sung by a municipal chorus of singers in merrie old England. The waits were especially busy at Christmastime serenading on frosty nights, and in return, they might receive coins or a bit of fig pudding.
