This love song was made popular by Elvis Presley who sang it to his grandmother in the 1961 movie Blue Hawaii. Originally titled “Ke Kali Nei Au” (Waiting For Thee), Charles E. King composed the song with lyrics in Hawaiian in 1926 for his operetta, Prince of Hawaii. In 1958, Al Hoffman and Dick Manning translated the original Hawaiian words into English, christening the song as the “Hawaiian Wedding Song.”
