mele's arrangement of Royal Hawaiian Hotel is in F with I Wanna Chuck Strum for ‘ukulele. Lyrics and translation source He Mele Aloha Songbook by Carol Wilcox, Oli Oli Productions, 2003.
Royal Hawaiian Hotel was written by Mary Pulaa Robins for the opening of the hotel on February 1, 1927. The song tells of its luxury accommodations and beauty located along the beach at Waikiki. Known as the “pink Palace of the Pacific” due to its rose-colored exterior and Spanish-Moorish architecture, the Royal Hawaiian Hotel served as the island playground for the word's rich and famous. Renovated in 2009, the hotel retains its elegant details of the past as it remains Hawaiian.
