Mele's arrangement of the medley is in G for Mapuana and C for A oia with different strums for ‘ukulele.
The two love songs in this medley were written during Hawai'i's territorial days of the 1940s. Mapuana was written by Lani Sang in 1942. Our arrangement of the hapa haole favorite (Hawaiian style music with English lyrics) includes a harmonica solo. A Oia was written by Johnny Almeida in the 1940s. Our arrangement is in Hawaiian and includes an English translation found in He Mele Aloha Songbook edited by Carol Wilcox.
