Molokaʻi and Maui from Kaʻōhao — Across the Kaiwi Channel | Lanikai Oʻahu Hawaiʻi - lanikai-beach.net

The calm before the storm… Before this week’s heavy rain and flood watch reached the islands, the view from Kaʻōhao stretched past Na Mokulua and across the Kaiwi Channel, about 26 miles of open ocean, to Molokaʻi, with Maui beyond. The same channel is crossed each year by paddlers in the Molokaʻi Hoe and Na Wahine O Ke Kai, and for centuries before that, canoes traveled these waters between the islands. Separated by the ocean, the islands have always been connected by it. This week, the same rain falls on all of them.

Lōkahi — unity, harmony, balance. Every island in view, all at once.
