Leonard's Bakery has been around since the 50's. Founded by the grandson of Portuguese immigrants, today Leonard's is most famous for their malasadas, a style of Portuguese donut. Malasadas have become a very popular treat in Hawaii and stop at Leonard's is about as mandatory as a stop for musubi or shave-ice.
Their town location (Kapahulu Ave) is likely their most popular and often has a full parking lot and a line out the door. We recommend an e-bike ride to get to this location. alternatively, if your on the road, you can stop in at one of several malasada trucks around the island.
